Benancio Mata

Brownsville - Benancio "Benny" Mata Jr, 47, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

Benancio "Benny" Mata Jr., was born March 12, 1973 in Brownsville, Texas son of Benancio Mata Sr. and Lourdes De Leon Mata. He is preceded in death by his father, and his brother Edwardo Mata.

He is survived by his wife, Esmeralda Barbosa Mata; his children: Martha Lee Mata, Megan Marie Mata, Dylan Matthew Mata; His mother Lourdes De Leon Mata; his brothers: Sergio Mata, Jorge Mata; his sisters: Magda Mata, Alma Flores and Loudres "Nini" Mata. Also surviving him are his in-laws.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service . Visitation will resume on Sunday, July 19 2020 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Heavens, Brownsville.

As per Mr. Mata's wishes he will be cremated at a later date.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
