Concepcion Fuentes

Weslaco- Concepcion S. Fuentes, 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

Mrs. Fuentes was born April 15, 1934 to Mr. Rafael Salinas and Mrs. Modesta Cortez in McAllen, Texas.

Mrs. Fuentes is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Rafael Salinas and Mrs. Modesta Cortez; her brothers, Jose Salinas, Rafael Salinas, Encarnacion Salinas, Guadalupe Salinas; her sisters, Simona Garza, Elvira Salinas, Eloisa Lozano, Aurora Villarreal.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Diana (Roger John) Vittitoe, Rosa F. (Geronimo) Carrillo; her sister, Ninfa Soto; her grandchildren, Lorenzo Carrillo, Eriverto Carrillo, Roger C. "RC" Vittitoe, Jon C. Vittitoe, Jacqueline D. Vittitoe; her great-grandchildren, Lorenzo L. Carrillo Jr., Arya L. Carrillo, Aviella Carrillo.

Mrs. Fuentes's deep devotion to faith gave her the strengthen to raise her daughters as a single parent. She was nurturing and resilient with an unwavering love for her two daughters and their families. Throughout the girl's childhood, she made sure they had a fulfilled upbringing with all the necessities. While their lives were simple and humble, there were weekly outing to the local burger diner or Dairy Queen and the City Park including annual trips to the South Padre. Mrs. Fuentes enjoyed shuttled the girls and cousins to Pep Squad, Girl Scouts, Band and the Drive-in. With the same passion after retirement, she devoted her time to her grandchildren along with visiting elderly. She loved to read her Bible and share scriptures with the family and elderly. When family spoke to her about concerns, she prayed for them and shared scriptures. Mrs. Fuentes has forever enriched the lives of many with her unselfish love and compassion for others.

Visitation for Mrs. Concepcion S. Fuentes are scheduled for Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Weslaco. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
