Edelmira Barbosa

Weslaco- Edelmira R. Barbosa, 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

Mrs. Barbosa was born on January 11, 1935 to Mr. Jose G. Rodriguez and Mrs. Maria de Jesus Sanchez Rodriguez in Weslaco, Texas.

Mrs. Barbosa is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Jose G. Rodriguez and Mrs. Maria de Jesus Sanchez Rodriguez; her brother, Juan Rodriguez; her sisters, Alicia Rodriguez Delgado, Guadalupe Sanchez Garza, Margarita Sanchez Perez.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Armando Barbosa; her sons, Elias (Minerva) Garcia; her daughter, Rebecca (Ramiro) Rodriguez Lozano; her sisters, Rosa Salinas, Maria Rodriguez, Gloria Brown, Josefina Pedraza, Raquel Valladares, Diana Cavazos; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Edelmira R. Barbosa are scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Weslaco. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 10:00 am at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery.
