Gary Smith

Gary Robert Smith, 75, was born in Des Moines, Iowa, to Luela and Robert C. Smith before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he resided with his family until the family moved to Irving, Texas, permanently. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, attended church at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from MacArthur High School before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and serving his country during the Vietnam War.

Gary was an avid reader, very gifted artist and guitar player, who loved all types of music. He lived most of his life in Irving, Texas, worked as a draftsman for a few years then worked alongside his dad in the air-conditioning business until 2012.

In 2022 he moved to Donna, Texas, where he enjoyed time with his cousins until he entered the gates of heaven.

Preceded in death by his mother Luela Patty Smith, father Robert Claire Smith, and nephew Kenneth Russell Bolton.

Survived by sister Patty Marlaine Pannell, niece Kara Marlaine Heflin and husband Robert Lee Heflin, Jr., great nieces Amber Barcelo, Megan Heflin, Autumn Brooks, Kara Fontinott and Sarah McCurdy.

He will be remembered and forever loved.
