Gilberto Cruz Garcia

Brownsville - Gilberto Cruz Garcia, 86, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

Mr. Garcia was born March 27, 1934 in Violet, Texas, son of Santos Garcia and Manuela Cruz Garcia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Francisca Trevino Garcia; a daughter, Maria Magdalena Garcia; his brothers, Fernando Garcia, Celedonio Garcia, Juan Garcia.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Hector Garcia (Rosa Angeles), Gilberto Garcia Jr., Juan Jose Garcia (Angela Jones), Yolanda Garcia, Javier Garcia (Alejandra), Esperanza Garcia, Erminia Garcia(Gabriel De La Rosa); sisters, Genoveva De Luna, Lidia Garcia. Also surviving him are 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m rosary at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville. Visitation will resume Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 9 a.m. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
