Brownsville - Guadalupe R. Carmona, 65, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at Houston Methodist Hospital.
Mrs. Carmona was born 01/10/1959 in Brownsville, Texas, daughter of Nicolas Rodriguez and Enriqueta Garcia Rodriguez. . She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Nicolas Rodriguez Jr. and a sister, Timotea Montano.
Guadalupe was always filled with joy and made an impact in so many lives. Not only was she an amazing mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, etc., but she was also an amazing friend and inspiration to many. She was the person you could talk to and feel like you were safe, loved, and heard. Her family was her pride and joy. She was always the one who reminded them that they were stuck like glue, together. Monico was her love and the one that she shared life with. That was her confidant, her friend, and everything. Her kids, Ramiro & Brenda, were literally her best friends. There was nothing momma wouldn't do for them. Then came the grandbabies, and that just flipped and sealed her life. Her 2 grandbabies meant the world to her. One of her heart filling accomplishments in life all started by volunteering, which led to her pursuing her career as a teacher. After volunteering, she applied as a teacher aide, and with no surprise, she got the job. Her love and passion for her littles was one that you don't find that often. She then got her own classroom, which led her to even bigger goals. She went back to school while teaching to be able to better herself for her family and her students. She accomplished what not many do, an Associates & bachelor's degree from the University of Texas in Brownsville. During her career, she received many state recognition awards and impacted so many families. It was such a beautiful thing to hear her come home with joy saying how amazing it was to now have her former student state how she had been an impact in their lives and how glad they were to now have their kids experience it. She retired from teaching in 2023 and focused her time with her family.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Monico G. Carmona; her children, Ramiro R. Carmona and Brenda Marie Carmona; brothers, Juan Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez; sisters, Maria Garza, Blanca Reyna, Enriqueta Rodriguez, Nicolasa Macias and Beatrize Clair. Also surviving her are 2 grandchildren, Allison Mata and Ezra Carmona.
