Harold M. Ryks

February 10, 1931 — January 30, 2025

Harold M Ryks Sr., affectionately known as "Harold," passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on January 30, 2025, at his home in Weslaco, Texas. He was born on February 10, 1931, in Renville, Minnesota.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, and 3 sons. He is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Ryks, his sister Judy/Merle Kluver, his children James/Kathy LaClair, Janice Wimmer, Gerald Ryks, Helen/George Baldwin, LaVonne Ryks, and Loretta Ryks, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A dedicated truck driver for 35 years, Harold's work ethic and commitment were unparalleled. However, it was his passion for fishing, woodworking and helping others that truly defined him. He spent his days in the park assisting his family and friends when asked, whether it was adding on rooms to their homes, adding a shed or simply borrowing out his tools.

What set Harold apart was his genuine love for family and friends, the joy he found in spending time with them. He cherished moments playing cards, board games, and coming together for special events in the park. His kindness, dedication and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A service to honor Harold's life will be held on February 7, 2025, at 1 pm at Country Sunshine RV Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice in Harold's memory.

Harold's legacy of generosity and love will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing he made the world a better place through his kindness and compassion

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
