Humberto V. Chavez Sr.

Weslaco- Humberto V. Chavez Sr., 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

He was born on March 30, 1930 to Mr. Maximo Chavez and Mrs. Aurelia Velasquez in Mexico City, Mexico.

Mr. Chavez is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife: Ofelia S. Chavez; his son-in-law: Froylan Garcia Sr.; his brothers: Moises Chavez, Nicolas Chavez, Fidel Chavez, Rogelio Chavez; his sisters: Emma Blando Chavez, Sara Gonzalez Chavez & Marcela Ballesteros Chavez.

Left to cherish his memories is his sons: Arturo (Mary) Chavez Sr., Humberto (Nora) Chavez Jr., Martin Jorge (Mary) Chavez Sr., Jesus Aurelio (Alicia) Chavez Sr.; his daughters: Carmen Garcia, Blanca E. Flores, Marcela (Felix) Chavez, Guadalupe Chavez Narvaez; his brother: Jorge Chavez; his sister: Marta Gonzalez Chavez, Irma Santillan Chavez; 25 grandchildren 45 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Humberto Chavez is scheduled for Monday, July 12, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery.
