Javier Cantu

Weslaco- Javier Alfredo Cantu, 19, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27, 2024 at McAllen Medical Center.

Javier was born on March 14, 2005 to Mr. Jose Alfredo Cantu and Mrs. Graciela Villarreal in Weslaco, Texas.

Javier is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. Alfredo Cantu and Mrs. Maria de la Luz Cantu.

Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Mr. Jose Alfredo Cantu and Mrs. Graciela Villarreal; his sister, Luz Caricia Cantu; his maternal grandparents, Juan Javier Villarreal & Mirthala Villarreal; his paternal aunts & uncles, Melly (Ricardo) Olivares, Enrique (Estella) Cantu; his maternal aunts & uncles, Maggie (Ronnie Chavez) Villarreal, Lorena (Andrew) Leal; his cousins, Jocelene Morin, Rosabell Chavez, Xyelia Leal, Jack Chavez, Ricardo Olivares, Sophia Olivares.

Javi was a very adventurous kid that lived life to its fullest. He was fearless always pushing his limits. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, working out, roughing it out with his friends, and spending time with family. He looked forward to family vacations, birthday parties, and holidays. He had a big heart and was always there when others needed him. He was a graduate from Weslaco High School and was currently attending Texas State University where he was a proud member of Phi Kappa Sigma. He was a dedicated student and was pursuing an engineering degree.

Visitation for Mr. Javier Alfredo Cantu is scheduled for Wednesday, January 1, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Weslaco. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 1:00 pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco.
