Weslaco- Jose Pablo "Pepe" Jimenez went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Weslaco Nursing & Rehab Center in Weslaco, Texas.
Mr. Jimenez was born on August 15, 1947 to Mr. Pablo Jimenez and Mrs. Angelica L. Jimenez in Donna, Texas.
Mr. Jimenez is preceded in death by his daughter, Eliza Marie Jimenez in 1976, his father, Pablo (Paul) Jimenez; his mother, Angelica Lozano Jimenez and his sister, Mirtala Jimenez from Santa Rosa, California.
Left to cherish his memories are his two sons, Omar (Bertha) Mora of The Woodlands, Texas, Joel (Alyssa) Jimenez of Weslaco, Texas; his sisters, Yolanda Rea, Martha Jimenez; his grandchildren, Emily Ann Mora Arias & Rebecca Marie Mora; his great-grandchildren, Olivia Woods, Anthony Arias, Jax Nguyen, Jaden Nguyen.
At an early age he moved to Santa Rosa, California where he graduated from Santa Rosa High School. After graduation he returned to his hometown of Donna where he carried out the dream he had since he was six years old, to become a truck driver and that he did for 44 years. He hauled everything from frozen food to bails of t-shirts, canned food, produce, oil, tile, meat and hides, auto parts for GM and even seafood. He hauled liquor, cigarettes, fryers, dishes, paper, tires, chemicals of all types. He traveled all the 48 states and Canada and was 100 miles from Alaska to make it 49. He loved his work and was good at it. The highway was his freedom. Every trip was an adventure. He was good at telling his stories down to the last detail.
His laughter, humor, his stories and his generosity will live in each and everyone of us that were close to him. His two boys were everything to him. He will be greatly missed, but he will live in our hearts forever.
As per Mr. Jimenez wishes he will be cremated at a later date.
Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.
