Brownsville - Juana Mejia Alanis, 75, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Valley Baptist Medical Center,

Mrs. Mejia Alanis was born December 24, 1944 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, daughter of Alvaro Mejia and Leonor Duran. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Alanis Garza; her parents; a brother, Manuel Mejia Duran.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Joel Alonso Alanis and Flor Alicia Alanis; brother, Jesus Mejia Duran; sisters, Olivia Mejia and Virginia Mejia. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Flor D. Vasquez and Areli H. Cisneros; her great-grandchild Sebastian Cantu.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Rosary at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Heavens in Brownsville. As per Mrs. Mejia Alanis' wishes, she will be cremated at a later date.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
