Marcelina Barajas

Brownsville - Marcelina Barajas, 78, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at Brownsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Barajas was born June 1, 1944 in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Daughter of Donaciano Castillo and San Juanita Rodriguez. She is preceded in death by her husband Horacio Ortiz; her parents; brothers: Casimiro Castillo, Jesus Castillo, Luz Castillo; sisters: Guadalupe De La Pena, Maria Luisa Castillo.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters Edith Ortiz, Maria Rodriguez (Javier); her son: Donaciano Barajas (Anna) and her sister Oralia Castillo. Also surviving her are her grandchildren Alexandria, Danielle, Anthony, David, Adrian, Haley and her great-grandchildren Matthew, Elizabeth and Alexander.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Heavens in Brownsville. As per her wishes, she will be cremated at a later date.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
