Maria Castillo

Brownsville - Maria Garcia Castillo, 81, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at her residence.

Mrs. Castillo was born in Elsa, Texas, daughter of the late Victoriano Garcia and Dominga Olivarez. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raul Castillo Sr.; a son, Raul Castillo Jr.; brothers, Antonio Olivas and Juan Jose Olivas.

Mrs. Castillo is survived by her children, Raulito (Jessica) Castillo, Irma Castillo, Teresita Ysasi, Diana (Rene) Martinez, Juana Castillo, Melinda (Zachary) Urban; sister, Petra Mungia. Also surviving her are 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and will resume on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Angels. Funeral mass is scheduled for Friday, July, 3, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Brownsville. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
