Maria D Avila

Weslaco, Texas - Maria D Avila, 86, passed away to be with the Lord on July 22, 2023 peacefully at her residence.

Mrs. Avila was born on March 24, 1937 in Municipio de Cerritos,Montana, San Luis Potosi to Mr. Enrique Martinez Loera & Mrs. Rita Araujo Jimenez.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her brothers; Cutberto Martinez Araujo, Jose Martinez Araujo, and Jose Leonardo Martinez Araujo.

Maria D Avila is survived by her loving husband of many years Leobardo Avila, her sons Jose Enrique (Esther) Avila, Martin Avila, her daughter Maria Velia Avila, her brother Dario Martinez Araujo and Carlos Martinez Araujo, her sisters; Alejandra Martinez Araujo, Reina Martinez Araujo, and Juanita Martinez Araujo. Also surviving her are her granchildren Janeth Avila, Joyce Avila and Mia Avila, and her great grandchildren Jaidyn Daniel Sanchez, Samara Jaycelynn Sanchez, Vianney Nicole Carreon and Vivian Nevaeh Carreon.

Visitation for Maria D Avila is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco- Chapel of the Heavens. Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday July 28,2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery.
