Elsa- Maria G. Serna, 77, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at her residence in Elsa.

She was born on May 28, 1944 to Mr. Leon Gomez and Mrs. Petra Gomez in Donna, Texas.

Mrs. Serna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Julio Serna; her brothers: Leon Gomez Jr.; her sisters: Guadalupe Casas, Leonila Espinoza.

Left to cherish her memories is her sons: Julio (Florinda) Serna Jr., Sixto Serna, Joel Serna; her daughters: Ruby (Fermin Morales) Serna, Irma (Reynaldo) Rodriguez; her brothers: Rene Gomez, Rodolfo Gomez; her sisters: Lydia Guerra, Diana Zamora; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Maria G. Serna are scheduled for Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels. A Chapel Service is scheduled for Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 10:00 am at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
