Maria de Lourdes Islas

Mercedes- Maria de Lourdes Islas, 64, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

Mrs. Islas was born on March 25, 1958 to Mr. Alfonso Lerma and Mrs. Josefina Dominguez in Durango, Durango, Mexico.

Mrs. Islas is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, San Juan Islas.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Horacio (Vanessa) Villarreal, Edgar (Nelda Cantu) Villarreal, Johnny (Jasmine Cardenas) Islas, Christopher Lee Islas; her daughter, Miriam (Nicolas Casares) Cespedes; her brothers, Martin Lerma, Pedro Lerma, Delfino Lerma; her sisters, Vicenta Lerma, Alicia Lerma, Cenobia Lerma, Lidia Lerma; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Maria de Lourdes Islas is scheduled for Monday, December 26, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 5:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Elsa. A Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 10:00 am at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Elsa. Interment will follow at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.
