Mrs. Alcalde was born September 5, 1949 in San Luis Potosi, San Luis Potosi, Mexico, daughter of Bernardo Velazquez and Juana Gonzalez Velazquez. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Mariano Alcalde Val; her parents; brothers, Jose Salvador Velazquez, Jose Bernardo Velazquez, Jose Nazario Velazquez, Jose Alberto Velazquez and a sister, Maria Beatriz Velazquez.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Juan Jose Alcalde, Luis Javier Alcalde, Martha Beatriz Alcalde, Alma Alicia Alcalde, Gabriela Alejandra Alcalde, Alfredo Alcalde, Ricardo Alcalde; brothers, Jose Angel Velazquez, Jorge Velazquez; sisters, Maria Genoveva Urbina, Maria Eugenia Velazquez Hernandez. Also surviving her are 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 24, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service at Salinas Funeral Home - Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville. Funeral chapel service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Guillen Community Cemetery.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home in Brownsville.
