Brownsville — Mario Godinez Tamayo, 76, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his residence.

Mario Godinez Tamayo was born, March 14, 1944, in Mexico, son of Salvador Godinez and Amalia Tamayo, He is preceded in death by his parents; Ricardo Godinez Jesus Rodriguez; sisters, Maria Elena Lule.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Zenaida Garcia Godinez; children, Mario Alberto Godinez (Sandra), Amalia Montes (Juan), Margarita Hernandez (Hector), John Richard Godinez; brothers, Salvador Godinez , Jose de Jesus Godinez; sister, Irma Leticia Tamayo. Also surviving him are 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 4 p.m.m to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m.m Rosary at Salinas Funeral home-Chapel of the Angels in Brownsville. Funeral chapel will Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 9 a.m. at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Angels. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
