La Blanca- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin Andy Perez Jr., a beloved husband, father, and talented musician, who left us on February 28, 2025, at the age of 44.
Martin lived a life rich in love, family, and music. A devoted family man, he dedicated 25 years of marriage to his cherished wife, Melissa Montelongo, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love that was evident to all who knew them.
Mr. Perez was born on February 8, 1981 to Mr. Martin R. Perez and Mrs. Corina R. Perez in Dallas, Texas.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Melissa Montelongo; his sons, Nicholas Roman Perez, Martin Jacob Anthony Perez; his daughters, Amethyst Marie Leezette Perez, Kalista Marie Celeste Perez; his parents, Mr. Martin R. Perez and Mrs. Corina R. Perez; his brother, Randy Perez and his sister, Esmeralda Candy (Jesse) Aguilar.
Martin was not only a caring husband, but also a loving father, committed to putting his family first. His nurturing spirit encompassed not only his immediate family but extended to anyone in need. Friends and neighbors alike will remember him for his selflessness and willingness to lend a helping hand.
As a drummer for various Tejano bands, Martin's passion for music resonated through the rhythm of his life, bringing joy not just to himself but to all who had the pleasure of listening. He infused his love for music into every performance, creating lasting memories for those fortunate enough to experience his talent. In addition to his musical endeavors, Martin found solace and satisfaction in working on his yard, where he nurtured beauty and life with the same love and dedication he showed his family.
A man of faith, Martin believed strongly in God, finding guidance and strength through his spirituality. His hard work and dedication were apparent not only in his music but in every aspect of his life.
To honor and celebrate Martin's life, the following services will be held at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of the Heavens. The family will welcome friends and loved ones for a public viewing on March 7, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service that will take place at 6:00 pm and will be followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
As we gather to celebrate his life, we reflect on the love, laughter, and music he brought into our lives. Martin Andy Perez Jr. will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
