Weslaco- It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Oralia P. Reyna who left this world on February 23, 2025, at the age of 92.
Oralia was born on December 16, 1932 to Mr. Blas Perez and Mrs. Ignacia Trevino Perez in Laredo, Texas.
Oralia was a devoted mother to her children with whom she shared countless cherished memories, including their joyful adventures gambling at the Coushatta Casino with family. Her spirit was a beacon of warmth and kindness, evident in her passion for creating beautiful ceramic art and lovingly painting Christmas nativity scenes. She found joy not only in her artistic pursuits but also in the kitchen, where the delightful aroma of her pan de polvo and lady finger cookies would fill the home, bringing comfort and happiness to her loved ones.
A woman deeply rooted in her faith, Oralia was a dedicated member of the Catholic community, attending Mass regularly and finding solace in her strong religious beliefs. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing nature, where she cultivated both flowers and friendships. An accomplished seamstress, she took great pleasure in sewing clothes for her family, lovingly crafting pieces that embodied her dedication to those she cherished.
Oralia also shared her talents as a sales representative for Mary Kay, where her vibrant personality and genuine care made her a beloved figure among her clients and colleagues. Oralia also worked with the Weslaco Independent School District for over 20 years as a Parental Community Aide serving the families in the district.
