Porfirio Cornejo

Edcouch- Porfirio Cornejo, 97, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at his residence in Edcouch.

Mr. Cornejo was born on September 15, 1924 to Mr. Felipe Cornejo and Mrs. Ventura S. Cornejo in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jesusa Cornejo; his daughter, Emilia Gonzales; his sister, Teresa Celaya; his daughter in law, Norma Cornejo & Alicia Cornejo; his son in law, Eli Villanueva.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Gonzalo Cornejo (Gloria), Raul Cornejo (Ruth), Porfirio Cornejo Jr, Felipe Cornejo (Rosa), Rosendo Cornejo (Lisa); his daughters, Juanita Villanueva , Lupita Castillo (Mateo), Herlinda Cornejo, Maria Hernandez (Felix), Teresa Duran, Juanita Rodriguez (Antonio), Dominga Cornejo, Carmen Garcia (Jesse), Patricia Guerrero (Jesse); his brother, Sebastian Cornejo; her sister, Isidra Cornejo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Porfirio Cornejo is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Elsa. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a Holy Mass Celebration at 2:00 pm at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Edcouch. Interment will follow at Anauhac Community Cemetery in Edcouch.

Funeral Services have been entrusted to Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa.
