Primitivo Rodriguez Sr.

Donna- Primitivo Rodriguez Sr., 73, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2021 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

He was born on February 24, 1948 to Mr. Candido Rodriguez and Mrs. Consuelo Hernandez Rodriguez in Elsa, Texas.

Mr. Rodriguez is preceded in death by his parents; his son: Stanley Rodriguez; his brothers: Oscar Rodriguez, Leonel Rodriguez and his sister: Lorenza R. Ramirez.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons: Ricardo (Carla) Rodriguez, Primitivo "Kiko" (Cynthia) Rodriguez Jr., Rene Rodriguez, Stanley (Michelle) Rodriguez, Primitivo "Prime" (Elizabeth) Rodriguez Jr., Alexis B. (Amabelly) Rodriguez, Armando E. (L. Liliana Robledo) Rodriguez, Javier R. (Claudia) Rodriguez, Sergio Bernal, Marco A. (Esperanza) Rodriguez; his daughters: Melissa (Jose) Ramos, America B. (Sergio) Martinez; Angelica V. L. (Eric Ramirez) Rodriguez; his brothers: Noe Rodriguez, David Rodriguez, Hector Rodriguez, Homero Rodriguez; his sisters: Adelina R. Sanchez, Audelia R. Palomo, Maria Ninfa R. Paz, Corina R. Perez; 27 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Our father, Primitivo Rodriguez, served as the former Chief of Police for Elsa Police Department. He dedicated over 39 years of police service to the community of Elsa PD, Edcouch PD, and La Villa PD. He was loved by many, especially by all of his children and siblings. He taught us about service, lending a helping hand, following the word of God, and to live life to its fullest. He joins his loved ones in heaven and will now look down on his children and grandchildren, a protector from above. Dad, we love you and miss you, we will continue to follow in your value of service. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.” - Matthew 5:9

A Live Stream viewing will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on "Salinas Funeral Home of Elsa" Facebook Page. A Public Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.

The Family of Mr. Primitivo Rodriguez Sr. is requesting for family members and friends to pay their condolences on our website or in person at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Face Mask will be required at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Highland Memorial Park. We ask you place your hand over your heart and refrain from touching the family during this time.
