Mercedes- Rafael Hernandez Jr., 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.

He was born on October 25, 1942 to Mr. Rafael Hernandez Sr. and Mrs. Manahen S. Hernandez in Mercedes, Texas.

Mr. Hernandez is preceded in death by his parents; Mr. Rafael Hernandez Sr. and Mrs. Manahen S. Hernandez; his first wife, Sara R. Hernandez; his son-in-law, Carlos Garcia spouse of Alejandro Hernandez; his sister, Noemi Narvaiz.

Left to cherish his memories is his Wife, Maria Olga Hernandez; his son, Alejandro Hernandez; his daughters, Luz Hernandez, Manahen Hernandez, Marlene (Eddie Camacho) Briseno; his brothers, Manuel Hernandez, Ruben D. Hernandez; his sister, Florencia H. Talavera; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation for Mr. Rafael Hernandez Jr. are scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Weslaco. A Chapel Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 10:00 am at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Heavens in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Mercedes Presbyterian Cemetery in Mercedes, Texas.
