Rita Da Silva

Brownsville - Rita Da Silva (formerly Rita Gomez), 88, was received into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Ms. Da Silva was born September 26, 1933, in Shanghai, China, daughter of Jose Joao Da Silva and Eliza Carmen Gonzales.

She is preceded in death by her parents and several siblings.

Left to cherish her memory forever are her daughters, Lydia Reyes (Rey), Cassandra Gomez Guerrero (Victor), Vivian Gomez, Georgina Mota (Mark); sisters, Elfrida Gaan and Lettie "Mickey" Brodie (Lonnie). Also surviving her are 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home-Chapel of the Heavens in Brownsville with a Celebration of Life at 3:30 pm.
