Monte Alto- Roberto Garate, 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 in Elsa, Texas.

He was born on November 15, 1947 to Mr. Timoteo Garate and Mrs. Macrina Mendoza Garate in Elsa, Texas.

Mr. Garate is preceded in death by his father Mr. Timoteo Garate.

Left to cherish his memories is his Loving Wife: Gloria Garate; his son: Roberto Garate Jr.; his daughters: Sonia (Romeo) Rodriguez, Jennifer (Victor Hernandez) Garate, April (Jesus) Flores, Krystal (Javier) Del Toro; his mother: Mrs. Macrina Mendoza Garate; his brothers: Carlos Garate, Javier Garate, Ramon Garate; his sisters: Estela Villarreal, Maria C. Gomez, Elizabeth Tamez, Soila Chavez, Rosa Marquez, Elma Garate; his grandchildren: Roberto Garate III, Robert Jonathan Rodriguez, Manuel Hernandez III, Nedra Olivia Rodriguez, Noah Ethan Gonzalez, Victoria Jayn Hernandez, Victor Luis Hernandez Jr., Jesus Rolando Flores Jr., Gabriela Abril Flores, Javier Del Toro III, Kathryn Autumn Del Toro, Jakoby Rob Del Toro; his great-grandson: Andre Josiah Rodriguez.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Salinas Funeral Home- Chapel of the Angels in Elsa. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
