Weslaco, Texas - San Juanita "Janie" Cantu, 72, passed away to be with the Lord on December 7, 2024, at her residence.
Mrs. Cantu was born on August 14, 1952, in Weslaco, TX to Mr. Eusebio Cadena & Mrs. Domitila Reyes.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Heather Marie Cantu-Cisneros; her brother, Juan "Johnny" Cadena; son in law, Daniel Cisneros & paternal grandmother, Librada Benitez.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Rafael Tito Cantu, Sr.; one daughter, Cathryn Sarah Cantu (Sally); one son, Rafael Tito Cantu, Jr. (Heidi); five sisters, Librada "Libby" Reyna (Dean), Letisia Morales (Martin+), Diana Peña (Joel), Dalia Cadena-Phillips (Phil), Delma Cadena (Rolando); three brothers, Roman Cadena, Eusebio Cadena, Jr. (Esmeralda) & Osmel Cadena (Yolanda). Also surviving are two granddaughters, Sarah Cantu-Cisneros, Sofia Cisneros & one grandson, Logan Tito Cantu.
Visitation for San Juanita "Janie" Cantu is scheduled for Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Rosary at Salinas Funeral Home Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens. A 11:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley Veterans State Cemetery in Mission, Texas.
